Who is the
Anglo-Indian?
Born in England during the sixty’s. Child to parents that immigrated to England from India. Growing up with bright ginger hair, a distinctive marker of past Irish Scottish heritage. Childhood dominated by dramas and being witness to many things that a young child should never experience. Family supported by the welfare state, psychologically playing the role of the ‘scapegoat’ within the family structure. Never truly belonging, but utilizing both the Indian and British cultures to survive and to gain learned lessons from.
Growing up
Ever curious of oneself and others.
Always exploring and seeking answers, even if it meant being called ‘the fool’.
Going on to understand the power of conditioning and coming to terms with one’s own personal history.
Clarity was attained at times, thus allowing forward growth to take place.
Aiming to become the archer of one’s life, present on releasing the arrow of focus, attention and work towards the target of goals / aspirations.
What is the work about?
It is a reflection of life, an observation of sorts.
Looking at events that have had a defining pivotal point on one’s personal development and sharing, reminding others of similar experiences.
It is a testimony of entering the darkness of ‘the cave’, fighting the dragon that all of us have to face on a regular basis - to make one’s mark on this plain of existence, no matter how big or small.
Having a ripple effect towards others lives and hopefully across time for the good.
It examines beliefs, values and perceptions - never blaming or pointing the finger, but dissecting so that forward growth may be attained.
